Hawkcombe is a wooded combe which stretches from Porlock to Hawkcombe Head on the moor.

Mill Lane, which gets its name from the water mill by the stream at the bottom of the lane, leads up the side of Hawkcombe and Hunter's Rest can can be found at the top of this lane.

From Hunter's Rest, a bridle path continues on up through woodland providing direct access to wonderful woodland and moorland walks.
